Today is Cinco de Mayo….

I don't really have any idea what this day is supposed to mean, just so happens that last year I noticed there were so many mention of the date in the blog world so I assume it must be something important.  Anyway,  "Cinco de Mayo" sounds very nice to my ear and I would like to greet everybody a

 "Happy Cinco de Mayo day!!!"

Today ...is also my second brisk walking day -- although I did not necessarily walked briskly this morning...
My take off time was about 5:30, my two companions  (my daughter and niece) being about ten minutes ahead of me already...
My right leg is aching-- ouchhh !!! (over exertion from yesterday??? - my first" brisk walk day")
... I decided to take it easy by tagging along my camera

This is the road leading to the beach  three kilometers from where we live….
The sun is already shining brightly and there were  many joggers, cylers and brisk walkers like myself …

It must have rained earlier since the road is somewhat wet - first rain of may? (It's supposed to mean something!)
When we were little my grandmother used to tell us not to go out during the first rain of May --
the reason is that you will have a terrible stomach ache! (Just one more reason for me not to take off --he,he...)

Beautiful day to walk after the early morning drizzle though,
the sun is shining brightly, but not as hard as the previous days
                   ...its cooler also
There were many ricefields along the way...it is sad to think that maybe in a few years time this same road will be dotted with                                           houses and buildings instead of rice fields and paddies... It is a thought that I hope will not happen…

Most of the Road is under construction, so there are a lot of ditches along the way...

The joggers do not always have the right outfit --- (myself included, I walked using a pair of my son's havaiianas slippers)

This is a pair of Rubber trees, popularly known to us here as balete (pronouced ba-le-te).
To the Filipinos, Balete has a reputation of being the abode of many "Engkantos" and it is a tree to fear during the night.

Very tempted to just sit on that bench and  just watch the passers by
with their myriad and colorful outfits
                … and happy faces…

                Two more kilometers to go…

A little Banaba Tree (very medicinal ) with lilac flowers on top...
Sorry, my little point and shoot did not do it justice...

                At last...Bagasbas!!
This May is the height of the campaign season for this year's election...

The colorful posters and tarpaulins of politicians compete for attention with these sea creatures…

"THE SEA! the sea! the open sea!
The blue, the fresh, the ever free!"
(from Robert Cornwall's Poem The Sea)
                Looks like rain....
The shoreline is dotted with people, today being Sunday and there is
nothing like a quick dip  to invigorate one
before going to the morning Mass...

The new PLDT Building along the  shore's Promenade...
courtesy of Manny Pangilinan a very
                 prominent Filipino businessman

an "askal" or street dog roaming along the beach...
                   I wonder who owns you?...
Going home, we rode the tricycle...our goal is for me to walk  and my two companions to jog from our house to the beach and back...but since we were just starting, we decided to be gentle with ourselves and so off we rode the tricycle for a hearty almusal (breakfast) of  fried rice, tinapang bangus, fresh tomatoes, coffee , milo, tea and some sticky rice delicacies at HOME... too bad I was not able to take the photos of  our food --too hungry to even try...

IT’S A GOOD THING WE RODE THAT TRICYCLE SINCE ABOUT FIVE MINUTES LATER, THERE WAS A HEAVY DOWNPOUR!!!

I've tried searching for my new post in the internet (sooo excited!), but to my dismay I found several sites with almost the same title as mine and one with EXACTLY  the same title - In MyLittle Town by Laura Tokie Writes -- and she's been blogging since 2009

should I change my Title???

Please advise....

Dear World,

I am an avid blog reader and I always open one whenever I have time. It has been one of the foremost idea in my mind to finally have the courage to have my own blog and to be part of the wonderful community of bloggers all over the world. To be honest I had tried many blog titles before but had been very scared to publish anyone of them. I honestly do not know where to begin. The blogs I always visits shows so many wonderful pictures of their homes and lives and their authors all seem to be very proficient in sharing their thoughts and ideas thru words and pictures. My world is very different from them and the pictures I will be sharing will not be as ideal as those posted by bloggers from Europe or the US, but I want my readers to see how living in a third world tropical country is, thru my eyes. So, I'm sharing with you my world as best as I possibly can using my own resources, experiences, thoughts, ideas, as well as my hopes and dreams...

           Yours very truly,
